I guess I'm wondering why "mostly older, post-transition individuals" are attending "support" groups.
Well since many, if not all, are single lonely people who live in the COVID19 city of Atlanta, trapped in tiny apartments, suppose it's just a way of getting out and socializing by mostly discussing what's currently going on in their lives -
very much unlike here? Different faces come & go every two weeks and while I much prefer to meet in person perhaps they'll one day
BURN Atlanta DOWN . . just like Sherman did? Ever watch the Netflix series "Into The Badlands"? Perhaps "Baron Trump" will wise up by restricting, containing all US travel by not letting "those rat people" into Republican territory at all? One can only hope!
In the meantime, it is I who's the "newcomer" having otherwise not talked to Erin in almost 10 years. I asked via FB if she still held weekly meets and she provided, simple as that and it's "FREE". Attendance is not mandatory and the only reason I attend is I may want to "officially" start my transition? Having had zero "medical benefits" since retirement in 2008 (which I never used anyway) my Medicare kicks in beginning early next year and am hoping "the premiums" don't outweigh my forty years of SA and endless forking out of CASH!
Somehow I doubt it but, then again, "
one can only hope"? The PLAN is to get onto Dr Powers waitlist in Michigan, see if a proper "transition dose" makes a diff and, although quite happy where at now, perhaps some FFS to look a tad younger I mean who wouldn't mind that (and losing again the 20lbs I've gained since less 'active')?
