Way I see it Ukraine brought all of this down upon themselves when they engaged in talks to join NATO . . a provocation that has always been a direct threat to Russia.

While Putin is certainly no Saint surely the flawed democracy of Ukraine is no better/worse than that of the greater Western EU/US.

Are we deliberately driving him to ally/team up with the Communist Chinese?

The current political/economic situation is disgusting! The current US admin (and NATO?) wants WAR with Russia, is willing to let Putin destroy Ukraine to invoke it, so ally China will come to Russia's aide and team up against America to finally completely break & overrun us!

Hi Folks,                 15 March 2022

This is an open letter to Vladimir Putin, Dictator of Russia.

Dear Mr. Putin,                  15 March 2022

You are a Coward and chicken shit bully.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of The Ukraine, a small country, is on the front lines of the war you started and is kicking your Russian ass while you hide your coward ass away in Russia and beg China for Military aid.

President Zelenskyy is the Greatest Hero seen since the end of WW II.

You  Mr. Vladimir  Putin, will go down in history as the Biggest Coward and Bully along with Adolf Hitler.

How about a Duel, old west style? Right here in the desert. The one who walks out wins. You haven't the cojones.

Sincerely,

Christine

If I follow your logic, if someone does something that you don't like, you go to war with them. Glad you're not my next door neighbor, you might shoot me because our dog barked when you were trying to take a dump. Can't say that I'd blame you, don't like being disturbed during important bodily movements.

Now that our economy is being wisely inflated along with rising food and fuel prices, it will force many folks to go on diets. Hope it does some good for the over fed welfare queens and kings.

The midterm elections are 7 months out. Will be interesting, think this will be the determining election as to whether this country remains one or splits into several separate countries. My guess is it'll ultimately split. The Northeast can go to Canada, the left coast can go their own way and the middle can fend for itself, which in my opinion will work out quite well.

At my age I'm getting to the point where whatever happens won't affect me for too long. Remember "Soylent Green" will be coming for you before you know it.

Best Always

Hi Folks,               22 June 2022

Been a couple months since I last posted here. Been busy with personal stuff:

Had my right eyeball rebuilt on 07 June 2022.

Going to have the left rebuilt 27 June 2022

Our Pooch Ella "Elly" unexpectedly (Cancer) passed away 21 May 2022.

Watching my country being destroyed by the Liberal Dems and their Ass Hole leader Joe Brandon. Hope all you Dems like high gas, food, housing, transportation, Prices, High Crime rates, Dangerous Cities, empty store shelves (already happening); this country is a Fucking mess and it's only getting worse. Where's it all going to end? Won't know until after the mid-term elections this coming November, about 4 months from today.

If the dems retain power in both houses, this country is doomed and will collapse. If you think there's crime now, wait until after the collapse. There will be hoards of gangs roaming the streets killing and forcibly taking whatever you have. We will have descended into a fourth world HELL, and there will be no one to help or save us. China will come in and kill everyone in their path as they complete their long anticipated goal of World Domination.

If you think I'm BS-ing or am full of shit, keep your heads in the sand like you've had them for most of your liberal lives.

I pray that I'm wrong . . . . but I won't put any money on my being so.

Hope for the best and expect the worst.

Best Always

Christine

Quite a bit of hyperbole there and that exacerbates the problems  makes things worst not better.

Biden is basically a decent guy IMO... But while some of his administrations policies may have added a bit to inflation, the main causes are COVID and the supply chain disruption it caused and still persist, as well as pent up demand. Add that to the war in the Ukraine and thats why inflation is worldwide which makes it obvious the core reasons for inflation are not due to Biden's policies... (BTW Shortages coupled  high demand ARE the reasons prices go up - along with some profiteering )

As for crime, all I can say is that I don't see much of any difference in my area... but economic issues also tend to cause crime increases in multiple ways ...

Quote
If the dems retain power in both houses, this country is doomed and will collapse.

Hardly ... What i worry about is if the supporters of the big lie gain control over our elections... that is a very significant danger to our democracy and the future of the country.

Quote
If you think there's crime now, wait until after the collapse.

Being TS and readable ,I'm more worried about right wing zealots with guns, or what I'll be treated like if I wind up in a nursing home in a few years, in the political future you seem to be hoping for.

I think you are looking through a very partisan lense ...

BTW insulting people because they have a different world view from yours is certainly not helpful in any way.

There was time in this country (IMO Pre Newt) when a lot more people could disagree with those who see things significantly differently from the way they do, but still respect them...

Somehow we have to get back there... I wish I knew how it could happen.

coming out? What the heck does that mean? I have always been clear on both my politics and personal situation here and elsewhere and been full time since 1997.

I posted here initially because Dena seemed nice on Susan's and I am not enamored of lack of free discussion allowed there on certain topics... But that was not about  national politics... but about TS related things.

Hi Folks,          04 July 2022

Got the left eyeball rebuilt one week ago today. Tuesday the day after surgery I took the pups out in the AM to a world I haven't really seen in 25 years. I can now see textures and colors as I once remember them; everything clearly defined; no more squinting; seeing the mountains surrounding us in all their majestic glory; all the little critters that share their world with us; the stop signs and traffic lights I hadn't noticed before . . . . Oops, That's spooky !!!

My vision isn't perfect just yet; only out of surgery one week, but it's a great start.

I only have one complaint, and it's a major one: When I looked into the mirror the morning after this last surgery I could see it caused me to age 35 years overnight. That's OK, they also have ways of fixing those defects too.

Well Karen, we all believe what we want to believe. Biden in your opinion is a "Decent Guy." Being a decent guy, even though he's far from it, is not a qualification for the Presidency. Biden is a brain dead asshole who has been For Sale to the highest bidder. He didn't become a multi millionaire by being honest. His "Hole" family is a graft machine. Joe Brandon wrote the book on it; just failed to have it published so the rest of us could join in on the fortune . . . . err fun !!!

Guns are not the problem, it's the crazies that are. We let nuts runs loose with a promise to "Take their meds" and no one checks on them. The inmates (Biden Admin) are now running the asylum. Look where all the violent crime is occurring: Dem run cities and states. But, don't let facts get in the way of your beliefs.

I stick by what I have written; time will prove the facts.

Hi Kiera, we manage our water quite well and we have Nuclear Power supplying most of Arizona's electrical energy. Dena and I are lucky, we have direct lines to the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Site just west of us. 100 % of our power is Nuclear. It's wonderful looking west and seeing the large Mushroom Plume rising above it. A very reassuring sight to behold.

Off to feed the pups. They live next door in their own "Puppy Palace." 2300 square feet of climate controlled bliss with their own fenced back yard and a "Puppy Poopy Park" next door for other recreational activities, such as chasing cats, peeing, pooping and exercising. Actually, they like cats . . . . when they're on the menu.

Gotta get going, back in a few days.

Best Always

Love

Christine

Well Karen, we all believe what we want to believe.

i don't know about you, but provable facts matter to me. None of what you say is even remotely proven about Joe Biden. There are no objective facts supporting the things you are saying here. You of course have a right to your opinions as i have to mine... but neither one of us have a right to our own "facts".

Guns are not the problem, it's the crazies that are.

Crazies do mass shooting ... but there are an awful lot of them around these days... most iave never been committed or seen psychiatrist an been prescribed medication...

A lot of guns in dense population centers are definitely an issue even putting aside mass shootings... even sane people can be volatile...

I certainly can't see why civilians should have weapons of mass destruction such as assault rifles...

That seems to me to be a very surface level analysis of a situation that is complex and multifactorial.

Big cities have large populations so everything tends to get concentrated there... and the more people rub together teh more things tend to happen, and more so the more poverty involved.

Quote
I stick by what I have written;

You have a right to your beliefs even if they are not fact based.

Perhaps... but given the lack of facts so far despite all the digging and looking for dirt on Joe Biden himself, that is HIGHLY unlikely IMO.

BTW on the eyeball are you taking cataracts? I have baby oens I've been told at my eye exam, and my spouse had a bad on cataract e and had to have one of her lenses replaced.

Hi Karen,               06 July 2022

I had Cataracts in both eyes. Both were bad though the right was the worst. They replaced the lens in it first then waited three weeks before they could do the left. The long wait was do to the Doctor being heavily booked.

My lenses were very occluded to the point where I could not see if the sun or bright lights shown into my eyes. It was like trying to look through a frosted bathroom window. Glasses didn't help so I was very limited in when it was safe for me to drive.

Now that both lenses have been replaced I am now able to drive anytime and am no longer restricted (self imposed restriction) in my driving. It's like I said in my post. I was jesting about not seeing road signs and traffic lights; I couldn't read most road signs until I was almost on top of them. Now my sight is almost perfect. It is getting better each day as the lenses settle in and the swelling from the surgery diminishes.

Are you here in the Phoenix area? If so we can give you a referral to the eye Doctor Dena, I and her whole family use.

My surgery cost us about $3500. 00 over what Medicare and my Medigap policy would cover. What they wouldn't cover was the type surgery that I elected to use. It is a new laser technology that they wouldn't cover. We felt it was worth the extra money as it made the surgery more thorough in that the surgery was faster, more accurate, fixed most of my astigmatism and installed the lenses more accurately.

So far I am very satisfied with the process. Time will tell. I was completely awake during the second surgery. My only complaint was how cold they kept the operating rooms. Nearly froze my buns; small price to pay for not being conked out. Don't like being anesthetized; the older we get the more dangerous it becomes. The use of Benzodiazepines (Valium, Versed, etc.) is a real problem for elderly patients and even younger. They are no good for anyone.

If we can be of help contact us via PM.

Best Always

Love

The only time that happens to me is with those damm  LED headlights... The halogen lamps with the yellowish color are fine, but those bright LED headlights can just about blind me!

Anyway at my last eyer exam they said my cataracts are no where near needing surgery yet. BYTW The surgeon my spouse used worked out well and is considered to be one of te best in this area.

I'm a bit farther east! ;) (east coast)

I have only been to Phoenix once many years ago. It was 2 jobs ago for a scientific conference. Even though I'm past  full SS retirement age I am still working full-time and still have medical insurance through work, so i'm not on medicare.

I think that must be standard for OR's... I remember the OR being very cold before they put me under for my SRS!

Hi Karen,                   09 July 2022

Yeah, those LED and HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlights are a bear at night. Years ago when 4 headlights were all the rage on most cars (mid to late 50's and beyond) I used to use Aircraft Landing Lights in the high beams. They were illegal and super bright. In 1984 I had a New Ford Escort that I mounted Four landing lights on the front bumper. If I was stopped and the car was idling, when I turned all four on the RPM dropped about 450 RPM. The worst part was they were expensive and had a life expectancy of 10 hours.

You definitely want a good eye surgeon. Our sight is, IMHO, the most important sense we have.

Yeah, the east cost is a bit far. My 65th High School reunion is coming up next year (2023) and that's about 2300 miles from here. I'm from Ohio, born in Akron, grew up in Cuyahoga Falls. Went in the Navy in 1963, got out Dec 66 went to work in 67 for the Navy in Japan and eventually in 1972 returned to Cuyahoga Falls until late 78 when I went to Dallas Fort Worth. Officially moved there in May 79 remaining 42 years; way too long.

Happy here in Arizona with Dena. Have never been happier, Love Her with all my Heart and Soul. Also love Phoenix, our weather is hot and dry. Worked outside yesterday trimming the tree in the front yard. It was about 105° f with about 8% humidity.

Hospitals, Operating rooms and Doctor's offices are notoriously cold to keep the spread of germs down. Never have liked being cold, one of the myriad reasons I left Akron Ohio area permanently; average annual sunshine 67 days.

If you and your spouse are ever out this way, stop and visit us. We have lots of room.

Take care, stay safe and Healthy.

God Bless

Best Always, Love

Christine

Hi Karen,                12 July 2022

Just a short post with info on the laser eye surgery I had. It's called "LensAR Femtosecond Laser with Cassini Technology." You can find additional information at: www.LensAR.com

Did check the supplied link; works fine. It is a USA company based in Orlando Florida.

Eyes are doing fine. Have my second Post op the 14th of this month.

Take Care

Hi Karen,                  16 July 2022

Dena had her annual eye exam and I had my second post op this past Thursday (14 July 22). All is well. Irony of ironies I had to do the driving on the way home. Dena's eyes were dilated so I finally got to drive again.

Did get a note from the Doctor that I no longer need corrective lenses. Took it to the DMV and they gave me a new license with no restrictions.

I am really thrilled with how well my rebuilt eyeballs are working. It's been at least 30 years since I could see as well as I am seeing now. I really enjoy looking at the Mountains and all the desert fauna. This place is fantastic, just wish I had gotten here much sooner than I did. Better late than never.

Had a bit of rain about a week ago and it looks like we may get a bit more tonight. There are thunder storms around us, just don't know if we'll get some at ground zero. We could use it.

Here it is, 2113 hrs MST and it's 101° f; loving it.

Tonight is Pizza night and tomorrow is family haircut day. We all go to the same hairdresser. I think we're her only clients. She's retired but does us as a favor and to earn some pocket change.

Almost time for supper. Take Care Karen. God Bless

Best Always, Love

Christine

Hola Amigas,              02 August 2022

Sure used up July in short order. 31 days went before I knew it was already August. Think maybe age plays a part in how fast time fly's by. When I was 6 and in first grade, a year went by slowly. Couldn't wait for summer vacation, which seemed like it took forever to arrive and seemed to disappear in somewhat of a flash. Couldn't have been the parochial school I went to. Hated the place and the "Penguins" that ran it. Those old witches still haunt me to this day, which brings up a story from about 10 or so years ago.

One day I got the bright idea to call that school I went to, to see if they had an Alumni committee or something equivalent. A lady answered the phone and we began a conversation about Class Reunions. she mentioned they didn't have a committee nor where there any classes that had reunions.

She then asked if I had attended Saint Joseph School. I told her I had. She asked when and I said 1946 - 1954. She paused a moment and asked me what my last name was. I told and the pause was even longer than the previous. All of a sudden in a very authoritarian voice she blares out my first name saying: "Chet, is that you?" All of a sudden I had this feeling of dread with an ensuing cold sweat, like holy shit, It's one of my teachers still waiting for me to turn in my homework; I was notorious for never doing home work.

I asked her what her name was and she told me Kathy L. I said I didn't know any Kathy L; then she said Kathy P, her maiden name. I about fell out of my chair; I remembered her, she and I went to school together for 9 years. The last time I had seen or talked to her was 1955 before summer vacation between the 9th and tenth grades.

I told her the instant feeling of dread I had when she said: "Chet, is that You?" thinking she was one of the old nuns I still owed homework to. We sure had a good laugh over that little incident. Every time we talk on the phone, we still get a good chuckle over it.

After the ninth grade I went to a public High School. Wasn't enamored with nuns and their disciplinarian ways. Being a hooligan, what would anyone expect.

Next year, if all goes well. my 65th High School reunion will take place. The reunion committee has sent out requests for comments by class members on their interest in having one and suggestions as to when would be the best time. If it does happen, chances are it will be our last. Most all of us will be 83, give or take a year. We should know something by end of fall. I hope we have it, it will be fun showing up Female and having the Love of My Life, Dena, with me.

Our weather here in Phoenix has gotten a little bit damper. It's Monsoon Season here which starts about mid June and lasts until October. It's not official, it's just a bit more cloudy and we have an occasional rain. Think so far this season we've had about 1/2 inch of rain. That's about one minutes worth from where I came from in Ohio and Texas, which is why I left there.

Hope everyone is having a nice summer and enjoying the high commodity prices, product shortages, inflation, supply chain issues, bull shit lies from Joe Brandon and the rest of the commies running our government.

Had to get that in, it wouldn't be me if I didn't.

Best Always, Love

Christine
