So you want a COVID vaccine

(1/2) > >>

Dena:
People have cheated to obtain this valuable commodity and I am not going to tell you how to do that. I will tell you how you can get it honestly from my knowledge of over half a dozen people who obtained one through the system.

Even if you don't qualify for the vaccine now, you should start doing your research. Deciding which vaccine you want will reduce the places you need to look in order to find it. I went with Pfizer because it has the longest track record and because it's in the 95% range for protection. The other vaccines are probably just as good or maybe better and even the Johnson & Johnson one dose might be a good choice for younger people.

Now that you know what you want, start exploring the web sites and set up accounts in more than one. There is no harm having multiple accounts as long as you only accept one vaccine. Start with your state website. They normally have massive operations giving multiple injections at the same time. Add in places that can fill prescriptions. In my case, I had the State of Arizona and CVS drugs. I could have added Walgreen, Safeway and Fry's food store. Soon to be added will be doctors offices so monitor the news to see what the status is in your state.

Even though the vaccine is free, paid for by the federal government, they will request your insurance information and if you're on medicare, your prescription plan information so have that information handy.

Most website will have some way of showing available slots. Check back regularly and if possible several times a day because they open up all the time. I had tried several times with the CVS site and then I spotted two open slots. My local CVS is less than 2 miles away but I had to settle for one 12 miles away. As I only have to make the trip twice, it's worth it.

As soon as your group opens, start looking for an appointment. I spent three weeks before I was able to book mine. I had better luck with my mother and found her one in about a week and a half. It doesn't hurt to join in the search with your friends. Make a deal where if somebody finds an open block of appointments, they share the information with the others in the group. I was lucky with my mother because one of her friends reported openings so I knew moving fast would get that appointment.

Depending on where you go, you will have a drive through or walk through appointment. The procedure you follow will  be the same other than you may not need to get out of your car. First you will need to register and have your paper work checked. Bring all the paper work you generated off the web site as well as a photo ID. Some states may allow other forms of documentation such as a utility bill so read the instructions carefully. Now you will wait your turn for the injection. They may ask a few questions including which arm you want it in. The needle is about the smallest one they make so it only feels like a pin prick but the next day you might wake with a sore arm. I wisely picked my left arm because I drive a manual transmission and I had been through this once before with a sprained right arm. You will be given a card indicating the vaccine you received and other information. Bring this card to your next appointment and make a copy of it. At some future date the card might be required if you wish to fly or attend other functions.  Last you will be directed to a waiting area. You must wait for at least 15 minutes to ensure you don't react to the vaccine. After the wait is over, you may resume you normal business but keep an eye open for the next hour for anything that doesn't feel right. If you notice anything, get help as fast as possible.

Over the next day, drink plenty of water and work the arm you receive the injection in. You don't have to lift weights but moving it may help with any discomfort from the injection. That may have been part of the reason for my sore arm as I received the injection about 5:15 PM. Possibly being able to move it for a few more hours might have help with the soreness.

Now the legal cheats. Sometimes you can get your vaccine out of order. If you know somebody who needs a ride to get a vaccine, offer to drive them or ride with them. If the appointment is late in the day, there may be vaccines left over. Ask if there are any left over and you might get lucky. They don't want to waste any and will give you one even if your not in the proper group. The other way is they need a fair amount of help to run the large events. Sometimes you can work a day at a vaccine event and your reward at the end of the day will be an injection.

While the Pfizer vaccine has difficult storage requirements, they seem to have found a way around the problem. I think what CVS does is they have one large freezer that can hold the vaccine in each major population center. Early each morning they prepare the days vaccine then distribute them before the stores open the vaccine line. This means you should be able to get all the vaccines including the Pfizer vaccine some place near you unless you are really isolated.

Last Saturday there were 4.5 million vaccines delivered and there is no reason for that number to be the upper limit. Keep you eyes open and remain informed because you may be able to get a vaccine sooner than you think.

Good luck and stay healthy.

I do NOT 'want a COVID vaccine' (Sam'atha I am), do NOT want it at all . . and neither does anybody else I know! "COVID" is nothing more than a huge media diversion designed to distract us from other "political goings on" . . which is also the direct intended result of "COVID" in the first place? By taking the vaccine you are, in effect, ENDORSING bad behavior! I understand the 1.9 trillion so-called "relief bill" also gave the CDC 1 billion dollars (of your OUR taxpayer money!) for a massive media blitz just to try and convince "us deplorables" to take it?

Yea Right! Consider it a 'leftist-media' stimulus/reward payout?

I do NOT want to hear it  . . .
. . and as long as YOU take it than you'll be "safe spaced" from me (and any 'other alien' you harbor by allowing to infest/cross your border)?

Don't get me wrong . . happen to like God fearing, family oriented Mexicans that originally owned Texas but but . .

"I do not trust them, I do not like 'vaccines' at all . . Sam'antha I am"!

Normally I would agree with you. In my life I have had only one flu vaccine in 2012. My roommate was dealing with cancer and I couldn't afford the down time or to pass the flu on to her. My immune system is pretty good and a cold or flue doesn't slow me down or put me through more discomfort than a runny nose.

COVID is different in that it's far more contagious and while the death rate at worst is under 2%, it's still a good deal more dangerous than the flu. It has the ability to overload our medical system and while treatment has improved, you can still spend a month or more getting over it. One of our clients caught it at thanksgiving and suffered with it for better than a month. Another had a grandmother die from it. The remainder of us have been very careful and so far haven't caught it. Getting the vaccine is about protecting those around you because they are the ones who could suffer from your decision.

Now the political side of it. Before the election the left used the vaccine to spread distrust about Trump. Notice though how after the election the left couldn't wait to roll up their sleeve and get the jab? Now they have it, they would like nothing more than to withhold it from us to generate more distrust for their plot to have the great reset. They know if they were to do so, the people would revolt so they are doing the next best thing by claiming credit for developing the vaccine. Trust me an we will take care of everything. The truth is Trump pushed the development and put the distribution system in place before he left office. Anything Biden attempts to do to change things just messes it up. Biden promised a million vaccines a day. We are now receiving 4.5 million a day with more on the way. This was Trumps doing and not Biden's.

The last COVID bill was wrong and when I receive my whatever, it will join the first uncashed check and unactivated cash card in my safe. That money is blood money that we are extracting from future generations. I will agree that some unemployment help might be needed but $85,000 per person is a pretty high price to pay for a $1,400 check. I feel like the Indians who sold Manhattan island after they discovered that people really could own land. I had a pretty good idea this would happen before the election so I voted a republican ticket to prevent it. Unfortunately we now have a power hungry government who wants to control every aspect of our life. How could people who wanted to get away from the control of their parents vote for a government that wants to control them more? I have been thinking about that for a long time and I still can't resolve the irrational part of the argument.

The vaccine is a decision that is only yours to make but consider it may be the simplest patriotic thing you can do to be vaccinated. You will take one of the tools of the great reset away from the left and when Biden tries to order you to mask up and social distance, you can safely tell him up yours. The vaccine isn't 100% but should you get COVID your body will be able to deal with it and you may have no more than the sniffles.

30% of the conservative aren't going to get the vaccine and I think that is a big mistake. Why fight with one hand behind your back when you have two. We need all the tools that are available and this is a tool we could lose. In Europe they are halting one of the vaccines because of some of the side effects. The left could use this as a tool against us and leave us at the mercy of COVID. Get your vaccine now before it becomes a weapon against us.

Dena, do you sub to the "Bob Livingston Alerts"?

Think of it this way... the establishment and Biden need some kind of rationale for a new COVID lockdown.

I did not see that... Some (far from the majority) were skeptical, but I think  you have it the wrong way around.

That skepticism was not to try and harm Trump... They did not trust Trump not to force shortcuts that could compromise safety and lie about it, as he lied about many things, even things that really did not matter. They did not trust HIM for good reason...

But most were reassured by respected non political scientists like Fauci. That is what I saw in my circles.

--- Quote --- Notice though how after the election the left couldn't wait to roll up their sleeve and get the jab?

The fact is availability was what primarily determined the vaccination rate not any political plot against conservatives.

Timing was such that the vaccines were not approved until very late in his term and Trump did not work out delivery strategies to get it out efficiently from the start...

--- Quote --- Now they have it, they would like nothing more than to withhold it from us to generate more distrust for their plot to have the great reset.

That is simply not the case. It certainly has no basis in any objectively provable facts.

In any case anyone who understand the situation wants EVERYONE to get vaccinated as soon as possible  for themselves, their family and the economy, to minimize the chance of new more contagious and vaccine resistant variants arising...

And  no the scientific consensus is NOT that the vaccines will likely work well for any variant that may arrive.

--- Quote ---The truth is Trump pushed the development and put the distribution system in place before he left office.

Partially true.

He funded a lot of vaccine development and initial purchases, and for that he deserves credit.

But not all of it. The Pfizer vaccine (which I got) was developed totally independently without government money. He did fund Modern and others...

There is certainly enough data to to say the distribution effort and planning was lacking ... That was because he said it was the states responsibility, and they did not have sufficient resources to do that.

Only partly ... Not Pfizer  and it was the Biden administration that got Merk and J&J together to be able to produce a lot more of the J&J vaccine  ... Facts and details matter

I live in very blue state and it certainly does not feel that way to me. The covid restrictions make sense and are reasonable based on the science and damage potential of not having them..

--- Quote ---The vaccine is a decision that is only yours to make but consider it may be the simplest patriotic thing you can do to be vaccinated.

There we agree ...but for different reasons...

--- Quote --- In Europe they are halting one of the vaccines because of some of the side effects.

The side effects were some blood clots... but that has been investigated and use of it has begun again.

--- Quote ---The left could use this as a tool against us and leave us at the mercy of COVID.

--- End quote ---
I think you may rapidly be forgetting the past...

Trump did that by his refusal to wear a mask for so long back when there was no vaccine available... His rallies were often mass gatherings of mostly massless people...

Even events at the White House resulted in infections because of it...

Facts and details matter...

I'm sorry but that just sounds paranoid to me. I have seen nothing that supports believing that to be a real possibility.
