Estradiol injection and implant schizophrenia warning
« on: May 11, 2020, 07:50:31 PM »

I run google searches on many subjects and for many reasons. Not long ago, I gave it "Estrogen Schizophrenia" and found far more than I expected. It seems that changes in estradiol will either result in schizophrenia or cause it to become worst. Consider that CIS women can be emotionally affected by their period and even some of the forum members have switched to twice weekly injections to reduce the roller coster ride they feel with weekly injections. This isn't as much of a problem for implant users as the implants last for months. Implant users have reported that they can feel the emotional shift and the end of the implant life.

From what I have seen, this isn't something that's common but it's also not rare.  If somebody tells you that you have had a personality change or people aren't reacting to you in the same way, this is something to consider. People with schizophrenia see the world as having the problem and they are fine. Being sensitive to others will help you deal with the problem before it has a major effect on your life.

Users of other delivery methods where estradiol levels are relatively constant aren't subject to this problem. If you are subject to it, the answer is to change the deliver method. One thing I am unsure of is holding pills in your mouth. That method produces estradiol spikes but they may not be long enough in duration to be an issue.

While there is much on the subject, I am providing two links that might be a good starting point. The first link (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4600562/) is from the National institute of health. it is a bit on the technical side but it shows that medicine has an interest in the subject and it has been researched. The second link (https://www.thecut.com/2018/12/is-estrogen-the-key-to-understanding-womens-mental-health.html) isn't technical and explores the stories of several people who were diagnosed with the condition.

The important thing to understand about this is estradiol isn't the problem. Shifts in estradiol are the problem so you can continue with estradiol as long as your levels remain relatively constant.

Good to know.  I am spiky.
If I need to I may try splitting my dose into twice per week injections.  Failing that, try different administration as you point out.

Mostly I'm going with the belief that if I think I'm crazy I'm really not.

Don't stop believing

lol That your indeed NOT crazy? One of the pitfalls of always getting a "democratic consensus" with others is if ya all AGREED, but went INSANE the same way, then who'd be left to otherwise notice anything amiss at all? One must always assume it's The World gone insane and that YOU'RE just the last surviving witness!

Besides, in the end, it's gonna be JUST YOU and the Voices in yer head anyway (and who's to say what's really real?)

I've tried just about every "mode of administration" imaginable and, aside from the "low dose" which I've been taking for longer than can remember, would - if had a choice - think the "implant" method best but WHY more don't do it is beyond me?

LEGAL / FDA APPROVAL ISSUES? "

Another preparation of even higher potency is Squibb's Delestrec, which at this writing (1966) is not yet on the market in the United States, but is well known in Germany and other European countries under the name of Progynon Depot (Schering). It is chemically Estradiol Undecylate in oil . . "

Been there done that!

Wimmens be crazy!

How many premenopausal natal females do you know that have changes in their personality or behavior once a month? How many men think women are hormonal schizophrenics by default?  ::)

This notion of taking estrogen so that your levels never fluctuate just doesn’t seem natural or feel right to me. I inject roughly every three weeks and occasionally go four. I’ve become accustomed to the changes in my feelings, moods, emotions, breast fullness, energy etc. even if they’re subtle and actually look forward to them even they're most often a surprise.

I feel flatlined otherwise and schizophrenia from little ups and downs has never been one of my symptoms. (except for the secret government agency satellite beaming invisible psychotronic waves into my brain and those people that follow me all the time)

This probably isn’t great for those in the throes of transition striving for female development that still produce testosterone but after being on hormones except for a few breaks for 48 years, I’m not going to be doing any more developin’.

Interesting phenomenon, nevertheless. Doctors need a new hobby!

Testosterone was difficult for me to live with but emotionally I don't notice a difference between estradiol or no estradiol. Physically there is a difference. If I quit estradiol, I get major hot flashes and fat doesn't stay were it should (not that it's all in the right places even with estradiol).

It goes to show you that bodies are different even in how they respond to natural variations in body chemistry. Some women need bed rest when they have their period while others go on as if nothing is happening. It's just another reason to be careful about judging people by your own standards.

Maybe it's not the estradiol injections.
My body/mind perceptions are being overwhelmed by attempting to interact.
Doesn't seem to matter what time of the week.

Now it's what?
A race to get in for surgery, so my body can more closely match my ID when the world blows away?
Nothing seems important anymore.
If it's not important....effort not sustainable.

I'm going to try and do one positive thing for someone or the world today.
Other than remove myself as being part of the problem.
I'm not crazy.  Most everything else is.

lol We're in yet another "undeclared war" already Maddie fading slowly and, being picked off one by one rather than "blown away", that appears to be more likely thankyou "New World Order"?

Were you being facetious? I was told on more than one occasion to keep my OEM bits "down there" per many more "relationship opportunities"? Does the ever-elusive prostrate orgasm indeed even exist?

She's maybe 72 now, and says she wishes she had done it much earlier.  Not easy for me to hear, considering my situation, but I just listened.
Maddie, just now read this . . will catch up promise!

"Estradiol" is not medicine it is my definition of "normal" but "SRS" i should emphatically add, especially at an "older age", is not normal either!

Kiera I can almost read you. (Compliment)
And you're horrible for laughing

I was not being entirely facetious, I'm caught up in bad news and worrying too much about apocolypse.  Also have some concern about Nazi style roundups of non-conforming people.  Which may be absurd...but at least it jives with the thread title.

Did you do what you were told and keep your bits?

Well, in my case I percieved estradiol as medicine.   I could use a copy of your dictionary.

lol I'm right there WITH YA on that score! I am definitely a "prepper" have my own water well, 3 forms of power (grid, solar & genset) and have recently acquired . . CHICKENS no less! Fear the "rooster's" are gonna 'ave to go  . . or what? Still learning . .

Just gave son and daughter-in-law a batch of chicks for their own.

As far as "Nazi roundups" go I 'ave NO "official" records . . lol . . outside perhaps of what I type here? Perhaps therapists & doctors, the "medical extablishment" in general, is a cause for concern but what they gonna do?

Lord knows if we had had internet in the 70's my transition
would have been very different indeed!

Yes school-bus company Jeff in men's group meant it as a compliment apparently anything that doesn't remind them of their wives is deemed as "amusing and different" but hey, try as they may, no CONFESSIONS outta me yet! Erin, my licensed therapist who is trans herself, says she'll give (correction: sell) me anything desired should the need ever arise but FFS is a pretty standard, widespread procedure that EVERYBODY utilizes would like to look younger (what? more girlish too?) but 'ell, then again, who doesn't!

"Ex-spousy" says YMCA tennis courts are OPEN again but that nobody is there.
Good time to try out "new 40-yr-old" Arther Ashe racket . . .

and very short white tennis skirt?

I've never tennised, but that sounds fun.

Kiera it is good that you have no records and are so prepared!  Happy for you, and curious.

Today I'm going to fight the paranoia.
