My favorite story is probably The Great Escape by Paul Brumhill
My favorite book used to be The Long Walk by Slavomir Rawicz, but cases have been made that the story was untrue.

Both are about escaping prison camps in WWII
Head up moving forward

Hi Maddie, if you like those stories you may want to read a Clavell book called "King Rat".  It was a great read and takes place in a Japanese prison camp in WWII. A really fabulous read and one of my favorite war stories.

If you read Clavell, watch out. There are two additional book tied to that story line Shogun precedes King Rat and Tai-Pan takes place in modern times. It' a very lose story line taking place over generations. I read King Rat while I was in school and I am not sure how but I was able to read at least part of Tai-Pan where I made the connection. I only saw Shogun on TV but I probably need to get the latter books and read them in detail.

I lied, the book was Noble house and not Tai-Pan. As punishment, I will provide the series of books. and the date they were first published. The list is in order of the time period they were set in.

1. 1975 Shogun
2. 1966 Tai-Pan
3. 1993 Gai-Jin
4. 1962 King Rat
5. 1981 Noble house
6. 1986 Wirlwind
7. 1994 Escape
