Thank You Christine agree wholeheartedly . . and think as "a society" we "pay" in more ways than just financial. Yes you 'ave a choice but there also needs to be consequences and I'm not just picking on "women" here men have their part to play as well.
Used to be childbirth was a dangerous, often life-threatening situation
for women but THAT is not so much the case anymore.
Speaking of wildly varying/diverse "
opinions & manners" I cannot help but believe the "old West" certainly had it much better in the
"common sense" & "respect for others" dept because, with open-carry six-shooters and intrusive "law" much less prevalent, one might otherwise get summarily
SHOT DEAD! (not so much women of course but maybe the original perpetrator of such crimes against "decent humanity" instead?)
And why is it that, with the
exception of "abortion", men are almost always still blamed for women's bad behavior? As a longstanding victim of domestic abuse myself I'd see absolutely nothing wrong with bringing back the
'ole Irish "Rule of Thumb" 
(with "equal opportunity" for a good beating being applied both ways of course!
